F13F13 was a South African free monthly ezine, produced by Ian Douglas during the 1990's. It was circulated via Rob Fisher's Roblist, "and also as a read-only mailing-list on the net." Evolving out of the Computer Security newsletter, the F13 name was "a sort of satirical poke at myself": There are 13 chapters in each article, there is no F13 key on the standard PC keyboard, and F13 is sometimes used as an abbreviation for "File 13" -- the trashcan. The 13 sections are "generally liberally laced with original and borrowed humour":
Ian stopped producing F13 after the December 1996 issue because "the original reasons ... are no longer valid: Rob is no longer producing his list of BBS's, which used to include F13 as a bonus, and the Empress has disappeared. Furthermore, I need more time in my life."
