 Be warned. Anyone can fool a call-back verifier. I proved this to
 Ina about a year ago, when I registered as Sherlock Holmes, and
 was verified after giving Ina's own phone number as mine. Here is
 some info on it, changed slightly to avoid misuse.

    THIS FILE IS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE TO INFORM PEOPLE THAT THE CALL
                       BACK VERIFIER CAN BE BEATEN
 
Equipment needed :
 
A Very clear recording of a dial tone.
A Set of Headphones
 
How To Do It :
 
First of all you call the BBS with the CBV you intend to cheat. Enter the
information required using a false name, phone number etc. Now when the CBV
says it'll drop carrier. You pick up the phone and listen, you should hear a
lot of static, and shortly you will hear a <CLICK> and the noise will stop.
On your Comms Package it should say NO CARRIER. Play the recording of the dial
tone through the headphones, which must be pressed against the handset. Wait
**** seconds maybe a bit less or more, and then type ATA and put down the
handset. What you actually have done is fooled the CBV into thinking that
it has a dial tone and when it dials out, it connects to you, who have been
on-line the whole time. If you had a reasonable recording, and did it
correctly, then this should work fine.
 
THIS METHOD HAS BEEN TESTED, WITH THE SYSOPS PERMISSION AND IT DOES WORK.
